you can but first you have to convert the PNG to ICO, i used [link] next right click chrome icon, properties and click change icon, find your new icon and you're done

what i mean is, for me, i can't get to so i can change the icon of google chrome, otherwise i would have done it by now.

Another way to do it is to use CandyBar, and with it being only $4.99 you really can't go wrong with it

i don't understand why you cant change it, maybe its because i only changed the icon of the shortcut on my desktop and you're trying to change some sort of core symbol?
