L'viv is a city that has been influenced by many different occupiers during its history, Polish, Austrohungarians, Germans, Russians, Ukrainians. This can be clearly seen in its varied architecture, so it's not uncommon to see two completely different-styled buildings in the same area of the old centre. Its old center is protected by UNESCO and is really worth seeing.
