Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

Trarevets Fortress was built around 1100 to protect the city (which was back then the capital of Bulgaria and home of the Bulgarian kings) from all sorts of invasion. Nowadays it stands at the same position, really well conserved, even under extreme circumstances of snow and cold. It was as if I could hear the whispers and the voices of the soldiers guarding the gate to the palace quarters. Really impressive...

The weather was really bad that day, snow, cold and fog above everything. But I really enjoyed the visit.
