My first real digital painting. It's not terribly complicated, but I wanted something simple, and I adore Scootaloo. I considered adding some clouds to the background so it didn't seem too plain, but I couldn't manage anything decent, and I kinda like it as it is, with the sky nice and clear. ^_^Edit: Darker shadow.

Nice, the mane looks very small though. and the shading should be darker since the sun is a very strong source or light, so hard shadows and light.

I did the mane like that intentionally, the ridiculously large manes of the show tend to look weird when you try to do any kind of realistic shading on them, especially when it's a shorter mane that only looks like it's as big as it is for the sake of fitting the show's style to begin with. Also, had I made her mane as big as it is on the show, it would've been a purple blob on her head from this view, since pretty much all of the edges would've been offscreen, and that would've looked bad. I editted it and darkened the shadowing, though I don't think I can go much, if any, darker than this without losing any chance of detail and just having a vaguely Scoot shaped silhouette, which isn't what I want.
