No, he hasn't stopped making animations. He'll never stop making animations, it's what he really wants to do in life.
Because of the surprise of the C&D he has to work from the very beginning to make an original animation. That means doing concept art, animatics, character puppets and all of that from scratch. Of course, that takes a very very long time to do and he's trying his best to finish it as fast as he can.
