Sometimes I forget that your skillz are far beyond the simplistic style you always do.
Don't get me wrong I love both but this is just like tear jerkingly beautiful.
I like imagining these things are pictures. So this would be the story I see:
Nebula would be taking pictures of the stars (cuz why npt) and she drops the camera when a particularly awesome star is visible. Then you know picture etc.
The background, the mane and the grass are the first things I notice that are epic.
Although (and correct me if I'm wrong) the telescoope isn't shaded.
Even with that there is no way that can take away from this thing.

The reason why I do a lot of simple artwork is that it's faster than something like this one
That's a really good story, I never thought about it that way. I just thought that the perspective was an interesting way to show the pony with the starry sky.
You're right the telescope isn't shaded. I don't know why, but I just didn't feel the need to shade it.
