Well, if I recall, I think we did get to see a tiny scene of Rainbow sitting and watching the Wonderbolts race. Additionally, a lot of fan-favourite pairings, like Lyra & Bonbon, Octavia & Vinyl and Muffins/Derpy/Ditzy & Doctor Whooves have been giving a fair amount of screen time this season.
So in your case, one could hope they would keep the pairing up trend going for Soarin and Dash.
