Description
Piece commissioned by legendary skateboard master, Steve Caballero. Portrait of his Model-A, in a twilight setting.... I was astounded to have the master contact me, and request some artwork! (...and he even swapped me for a piece of his art! COOL!) I began with about 20 thumbnail sketches, and then scanned in the most likely candidate, re-drawing the car in Illustrator, using a variety of reference photos to get details right... the background was inspired by thinking back to days skating behind a friend's house at night... adding mountains and palms, as well as the dragon statue, as an homage to CAB's deck art through the years.Hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.... it was a labor of love and patience, and I wanted it to be a standout in my portfolio, much as CAB ius a standout human being.

Thanks, man! Yeah, it was for the one and only CAB....What's great about it, was that it was part of an art trade... So I not only got to create something cool, but now have a piece of HIS work on my wall.... Truly a great guy, and a pleasure to talk with...

This looks great! I like your style, its like hand drawn, with the vibrancy and solid colour illustrator provides. Great work! Well shaded, the framing, its all right (and I dont say that often
