~Wait and Listen~
Chapter 1

Sunlight dappled the ground and the many trees of the woods.  The small, constant gurgling of the stream could be heard throughout
the stillness of the forest.  The small breeze that traveled through the air brushed passed me as I sat indian style in, what I knew,
was the center of the forest.  My baby blue eyes were closed and my breath was relaxed and came at a steady pace, the gental
breeze hardly a thought in my mind.  It looked like
I was meditating, but really, I was searching for the meaning in the wind.  How and why it existed, and where it was going.  I wanted
to know if it was alive.  Deep down inside me, I felt like the wind was speaking to me.
I opened my eyes suddenly when a loud barking noise suddenly broke loose.  I relaxed when I realized what it was.  Stupid
neighbors left their dogs outside again!  I thought to myself as I stood up once my peace was broken.  The woods I was in wasn't
very big at all, nor was it in the middle of no where.  It was out of place really, in the center of a neighborhood I wished to forget
about.  The small creak was actually coming from a sewer, which I thought was stupid of the man who decided to let human
waste flow as a stream through the neighborhood.  The only reason it flowed so cleanly, was because I was out day by day trying
to clean it.

The breeze of the spring began to calm and that told me it was time to go back home, where my parents waited for me to talk about
my first day at school.  I was originally a home schooler, until my parents decided I wasn't getting enough sociol time with kids my
age.  That's when my first life problems began kicking in.  I hated school with the best of  me.  The kids there have no imaginenation
and they sertainly don't like trying out new things, for fear of getting told its 'lame'.  Its like living in a world where your mind is
told what to be like.  I was only able to make one friend, who you could say had the smallest bit amount of personality from the others.
Her name is Skyler, the most out going person I will ever meet.  She visits me ever so often to show me new pictures of this boy
she likes.

The Hurrizon turned grey with the signs of a storm approaching, not a very big one by the looks of it.  My parents will yell at me
if I'm not inside before the storm hits.  My mind bubbled as I began to pick up the pace a little.  I leaped over logs, stones,
and dips in the ground.  I was about to step over a couple of branches when I suddenly heard a voice, a voice that seemed to be in
a different language.  This caught me by surprise, for I was certain I was alone, and so my foot got caught on the branches and I
fell over.  Landing face first into the dirt, I moaned slightly when I noticed my favorite pants were all covered in dirt.  I lifted my body
off the ground with my arms, looking around to see who could have possibly be talking to me.  Could it be one of the neighbors?
I wondered in my mind.  When I looked around, I didn't see any neighbors near by, except an old man mowing his lawn.  He had head
phones in his ears though, so I assumed he was listening to music more then starting a conversation.
I quickly went over my thoughts to try and remember what the voice said.  It was strange, but I had a good idea just what exactly
it said.  "Hurry home..."  I could have sworn I heard more, but I couldn't recognize the word the voice used.
