She's blunt and speaks her mind.
She's smart, dependable, and mature; a good person to confide in and get advice from.

Why:
It's good to have best friend characters that are opposite, but not so opposite that it'd be unlikely they'd get along.
Tamiko has a younger sister, which already fills the "spunky/younger" character slot.
