Description
Autumn is here (and winter is coming
) so here you have something along september and october colours.I painted this as an entry for the Birds' club art contest, "Autumn colours" (here more info [link] ), using a plywood board as base and covering it with collage (normal package paper and rice paper) and acrylics.
Since the quail is a migratory bird, this one belogs to the last group which still has to fly South

I love the cracked glazed texture behind the bird.

I glued scraps of rice paper (in the centre of the painting), heavyweight hazelnut paper (you can see it on the right) and havana coloured package paper on the plywood board. After painting I used a finishing spray to protect all, hence the "glaze", which, btw, makes shooting terribly difficult due bue light reflexes.
