Description
Chapter one: Fate knocks with a five hundred dollar bill.If you have never seen an oracle, the perfect description would be a regular human with a regular personality. You would never be able to tell them apart, well there is something. Thick black lines coming from your eye down to your chin, the number of lines depends on the generation you are in. The other thing is, you know where your eye is supposed to be white, yeah, no. That's black too. With a creepy ass eye like that, people think you are cursed. Well, you sort of are.
My name is Skylar, and you guessed it. I am an oracle. I'm 16 years old and have five lines coming down from my right eye, so that means I am in the fifth generation, and don't ask me how that happened, none of my parents had this kind of shit happen to them. Just lucky me. Though, it's not so bad. It doesn't really affect my life too much, occasionally I see things when I don't mean to. Though, I can see perfectly into people's futures. I cannot see into the past unless I am touching an object from the past. I am unable to see into the present at all. That skill seems to have skipped me.
-----------
As a student, I go to school. Always on my best behavior. I can't go to detention, with an eye like mine, I'm just going to run into trouble.
"Skylar, are you really able to tell the future?" A voice asked and made me turn around. Behind me was a girl by the name of Kerri. She was pretty, way too pretty to be asking a nobody with brown hair and big ears out on a date.
"Of course. You think these rumors are lies?" I ask with a sense of pride and take a seat. "Though, it depends how much are you willing to pay?"
The girl fished out a ten dollar bill and slapped it on the desk, her face was flushed with excitement. Too bad her future wasn't so wonderful.
Taking the money I shoved it into my pocket and looked at her with a crooked smile. "Please take a seat, this won't take long at all."
The images were like a movie, I saw it all, her marriage, her retirement, her death. I could almost touch the strands of her life passing me. Finally, I got a good amount of information for ten dollar and blinked a few times before reality came back.
"Alright, you will go to collage, get married during your second year and drop out. Your husband will be a gambler and a lucky one at that. You will be given great fortune by his dirty habit, though, you will have to sacrifice your love for him. He will have many younger lovers and you have the choice to continue being wealthy, or leave him. You stay. Soon he leaves you and takes most of the cash, leaving you enough for a bus ride. You ride that bus home to your parents. From there on, you get re-married at age 39, have a child who robs you blind, and you end up living your days in Florida." It all came out so easily and yet the girl looked offended.
The tip for my advice was a slap to the face.
I decided that the best way to spend my beautiful new money was on candy in the vending machine. With a ten in my hand I made my way for the machine.
The dollar was all crinkled and I needed to smooth it against my pants. Grumbling, the machine wouldn't take it and I was getting mad.
So focused on my difficulties, I did not notice the hand tapping my shoulder. With a hop I yelled out to see a small girl behind me.
She was cute, small with short blond hair spiking up in every which way. Her eyes were big and gray but didn't seem innocent. In her hand was money, of course she was waiting in line. Moving aside, I would let her go first.
Instead she put the money in my hand and said, "I have a job for you." On the bill was the number 500.

asdfghjhkl.
This is really great~
The description was wonderful and so was the clarity of each sentence.
The only thing I could possibly point out is a few grammar mistakes, but I know if I even bothered with that I'd get a slap to the face just for being a grammar nazi.
By the way, if there was an oracle, say, like over a hundred generations old, would their face look like a barcode~?
