Description
I may or may not be too hyped for Hyrule Warriors. But seriously, who wouldn't be excited for a boatload of Zelda fanservice!? That being said, I figured I would post my predictions for the game's roster and each character's fighting style. Please note that the only character missing is Lana, as an icon for her is not available in Roster Maker as of now.1. Link
- Link's primary weapon would be his Master Sword, unsurprisingly. In addition, his secondary weapon would be the Fire Rod.
2. Queen Zelda
- Zelda's primary weapon is her Rapier. In addition, her special attacks would utilize her Light Bow and the magic used throughout the Legend of Zelda series (Nayru's Love, Din's Fire and Farore's Wind).
3. Impa
- Impa's primary weapon is her giant Broadsword, swinging it to and fro to cleave her foes in two. In addition, her special attacks utilize various Sheikah weaponry and magic.
4. Darunia
- Darunia's primary weapon would be the Goron's Bracelet, allowing him to have super strength. In addition to his various punching combos, Darunia can use traditional Goron attacks, such as rolling and causing spikes to protrude from his shell, a la Darmani from Majora's Mask.
5. Deku Princess
- The Deku Princess' primary weapon is the Deku Nut, which she can launch from her mouth in rapid succession to stun and damage enemies. In addition, her Highness has access to the various powers that the Deku have possessed throughout the series, such as the ability to rapidly spin, shoot magical bubbles and use flowers to propel themselves into the air.
6. Kafei
- Kafei's primary weapon is the Keaton Mask. The mask allows Kafei to call upon the magical Keaton which Kafei can command to attack opponents physically and shoot out electrical energy from its body, as a nod to Pikachu. As a side note, Kafei's design would be an older, adult design, as though the curse on him had been reversed.
7. Mikau
- Mikau's primary weapon is the Guitar of Waves, which he can use to bash and slice enemies or to release waves of sound. In addition, Mikau has access to the abilities of the Zora, allowing him to shoot out his fins like boomerangs and release waves of electricity.
8. Nabooru
- Nabooru's primary weapons are the Dual Scimitars, allowing her to wield the Gerudo's traditional weapon in each hand. Nabooru also has access to a secondary playstyle, allowing her to battle in her Iron Knuckle Suit.
9. Ralph
- Ralph's primary weapon is his Rapier, although he wields it differently from Zelda. Ralph is a balance between Link and Zelda, being faster than Link but being able to use a wider-range, but dizzying, Spin Attack. In addition, Ralph can call upon Moosh and Ricky to assist him in his special attacks.
10. Midna
- Midna's primary weapon is her Shackle, allowing her to summon Twilit Wolfs and perform various attacks in combination with the usage of her ponytail and Fused Shadows. Like Nabooru and Link, Midna possessed a secondary moveset. Unshackled, Midna reverts to her True Form, allowing her to attack with Twilit Magic.
11. Agitha
- Agitha's primary weapon is her Parasol. However, Agitha is not limited to just beating enemies senseless with her umbrella, but calls upon various insects swarms to attack her enemies for her.
12. Ashei
- Ashei's primary weapon is her Yeti Mount. While riding atop of Yeto/Yeta, Ashei can fire off rounds from her bow, slash enemies with her sword, and command her mount to attack physically or use various forms of ice-elemental magic.
13. Saria
- Saria's primary weapon is the Deku Stick and Deku Shield combo. Saria wields the two as though they were an ordinary shield, but fights much more gracefully and playfully than most swordsmen. In addition, Saria can call upon various monsters found in the Forest Temple to assist her in her attacks by playing the Fairy Ocarina. Her ranged weapon would be the Fairy Slingshot, as opposed to bombs.
14. Makar
- Makar's primary weapon is his Cello, allowing him to beat enemies with his instrument's bow and release sound waves. In addition, Makar can use his Deku Leaf to blow enemies away and to hover around above ground for a short time.
15. Tingle
- Tingle's primary weapon is his Tingle Tuner. Unlike other characters, Tingle bears no real weapon and is a bit of a joke character. Tingle can hover around in his balloon, fire ink from his cartography pen, roll around a giant Tingle Bomb, fire exploding confetti, etc. He is extremely unpredictable and acts as the comic relief, alongside Beedle.
16. Medli
- Medli's primary weapon is her Harp, allowing her to bash enemies and release damaging sound waves. In addition, Medli has the ability to strike enemies with her wings and her Grappling Hook.
17. Tetra
- Tetra's primary weapon is her Pirate Cutlass. Beyond basic swordplay, Tetra can use her bombs and summon members of her trusty crew to assist her in beating down the enemy.
18. Sheik
- Sheik's primary weapon is her Chain Whip, originally featured in the Super Smash Bros. series. Sheik utilizes a variety of ninja techniques and possesses needles that she can rain down on the enemy from above.
19. Fairy Queen
- Fairy Queen's primary weapon is the Great Fairy Puppet. The puppet is completely under the Queen's control, allowing for her to use the doll as a shield or as a weapon. The size of the puppet can change at any given moment, dependent on the Queen's will. In addition, the Fairy Queen has the ability to rain down a volley of Fire and Ice Arrows.
20. Skull Kid
- Skull Kid's primary weapon is the Majora's Mask. Skull Kid has a variety of attacks to use, ranging from physically clawing opponents to firing Tael and Tatl at opponents to casting dark magic.
21. Ravio
- Ravio's primary weapon is the Elemental Rod, a combination of the Fire, Ice, Sand and Tornado Rods from A Link Between Worlds. With these rods, Ravio is able to cast a variety of elemental magic across the battlefield. His special attacks can be aided by Hilda to empower him.
22. Linebeck
- Linebeck's primary weapon is the Salvage Arm, a modified version of his ship's hook that is primarily used for treasure hunting. This machine can be used to smash enemies with the hook or to grab an enemy, swing them around, and throw them through the crowd. In addition, he can summon his ship to fire a barrage of cannonballs at his enemies.
23. Beedle
- Beedle's primary weapon is the All-Purpose Bag, containing a variety of items he has sold in his shop throughout the series. From this bag, Beedle can pull out a Hyoi Pear to summon a swarm of seagulls, Bait to summon a horde of rats, bombs to blow enemies up, etc.
24. Happy Mask Salesman
- The Happy Mask Salesman's primary weapon is his Mask Collection. Each attack causes him to swap between masks, each causing a different effect. The Blast Mask creates an explosion, the Bunny Hood causes him to rush through foes, Bremen Mask causes a swarm of Cucco Chicks to attack, etc.
25. Groose
- Groose's primary weapon is his Loftwing. Like Midna and Ashei, he is a mounted attacker who can fly and run around on his Loftwing to attack enemies. Groose's special attacks call upon the Groosenator to launch an assault on the surrounding area.
26. Alfonzo
- Alfonzo's primary weapon is his Greatsword, wielding the blade with two hands unlike the other swordsmen. Beyond ordinary swordplay, Alfonzo's special attacks can call upon his train to run over opponents.
27. Byrne
- Byrne's primary weapon is his Detachable Gauntlet, allowing him to punch enemies, launch his gauntlet, grab enemies and swing them (or his empty gauntlet) around in a frenzy. Byrne's special attack allows him to call upon Malladus to attack his enemies.
28. Veran
- Veran's primary weapon is her Magic Wand. Veran glides quickly around the stage, able to fire off a flurry of fireballs and send spiders out to attack enemies. In addition, Veran has the ability to shift forms into various monsters as well as an Evil Fairy to better maneuver around the battlefield or to better damage enemies.
29. Vaati
- Vaati's primary weapon is the Minish Cap, a magical hat that grants him endless power. With this power, Vaati is able to bend the wind to his will, create floating eyeballs that fire off lasers and allow him to transform into giant, winged eyeballs to attack his foes.
30. Ganondorf
- Ganondorf's primary weapon is his Trident, allowing him to attack enemies from short range with his weapon and from long range with his dark magic. A secondary playstyle allows him to become a physical fighter with his Sage's Sword, also allowing him to fight with his fists, in a style to that of his Super Smash Bros. moveset. In both forms, he possesses the ability to transform into Beast Ganon.
Final Count:
17 Males, 13 Females.
10 Hylians, 1 Goron, 1 Zora, 1 Deku, 2 Gerudo, 1 Korok, 1 Rito, 1 Twili, 1 Lorulian, 1 Kokiri, 1 Lokomo, 1 Minish, 2 Sheikah, 1 Fairy, 1 Terminian, 1 Human.

Nice guesses. Now there's new characters coming, four more. Medli, Marin, and two more which I do not know for sure who yet.Β

Who I would of like to see in HW was Nabooru, Skull Kid, Happy Mask Salesman, the group from TP and Impa,s Skyward Sword and Oot appearances. Also the non-playable foes would of been Zoras and Greedos.

I'm totally with you, those would've been fantastic. Also, I assume you meant Gerudos and not Greedos, like the little green alien dude from Star Wars? Lol

Also, I agree withΒ Vaati on your roster, I do hope he makes a return, since enemies like Ganondorf are returning as playable! Vaati and Medli are my main hopes, if even one of them makes it I will be done for life!

I know they are from two separate games but I would have armed Agitha with the beetle claw from skyword sword. It would make sense for her, I don't deny a Parasol use but I see it more for a proper defensive shield than a sword/club replacement.Β I mean even The Penguin from Batman who uses umbrellas as a gimmick only makes them look them to hide their practical nature like a machine gun.

I could definitely see that happening! I'd love for her to get either that or the Bug Catching Net as an additional weapon in the sequel...if there is one.

Well, I'm excited for Darunia and Sheik. I'm completely indifferent to Ruto. As long as there is a Zora and a Goron, I'm fine.

All that's left now for my most wanted are Saria and Nabooru.Β (Though some are now saying that Saria's chances are lessened due to Lana's secondary weapon.)

It's true, Saria's chances have diminished significantly. Lana's secondary weapon is a Deku Wand, which uses nature-based magic and controls a miniature Deku Tree. It seems REALLY out of place for her, but hey, at least we got someone who can use Deku magic. Whomp :/

Raziel and Kain are from the Legacy of Kain series look them up on google and Legacy of Kain is like a more mature version of Castlevania and Legend of Zelda

If OoT gets a true rep. (example: Midna=TP, and Fi=SS (yes... Fi is in the game.)) Darunia, in my opinion, is the best character to fill this spot.

Well, you're in luck - the Zelda Musou twitter just announced that a new character will be revealed this week and ended the tweet in "goro~" which is the dialect of the Gorons in Japanese. Seeing as how they've already given us hints at an OoT rep, sounds pretty promising for Darunia

also I'm expectin skull kids weapon will be his flute from twilight princess and Kafei will have hidden blades or something to justify him attacking with his sleeves.

I had heard that, it honestly just slipped my mind while making this because I was so focused on including a variety of races >.< Adding Lana to the roster will definitely even it out a bit (14 vs. 17 is pretty close to half).
Thank you! Medli is my personal favorite, so I'm glad to have found a fellow fan

I could definitely see them all being playable, even Rauru who I could see being playable, but not becoming a popular character fanbase-wise. I actually really like Fi, but I think that they would need to be creative with her. My idea was that she could transform her limbs into blades, since y'know she is the Master Sword and everything.
Yep, I'm aware! Thus why she's included, I would've never expected for her to be in the first installment of the game.

I definitely feel like Ghirahim will be in the game in some capacity, but I feel like they might save him to be a playable character in the next game. After all, they have to save some big names so that the next game will sell, just like they do with Smash. Also, they seem to placing on emphasis on TP so maybe there'll be a bigger emphasis on SS the next game.
