Description Despite it's namesake, the Goliath's small size, it is able to take on ships larger than itself, having average armament but surprisingly heavy armour and polarized hull fielding, even able to withstand a nuclear stike which would obliterate a ship of it's size. Boasting a multitude of antiaircraft weaponry concealed under the armour plating, it served as the Federation fleet's spacefighter watchdog, often used in harmony with Martian Dagger squadrons to hunt down Allied fighters making their runs on more valueble shipping.

Because of the versatility of the class, many ships were built in the orbital shipyards over Mars, fighting furiously until the Federation met it's final fate. After the war, the ships would once again face combat against a new enemy, earning the fleet various victories which would be remembered for generations to come.

it looks a bit like a cross with a zeplin and a space cruiser. is the large bulge on the nose for scanners or storage? or anything inparticular?
i can imagine one or two of these things being pounded by a behemoth twice its size, and winning!

Partially inspired by the Alliance Assault Frigate Mk II from Empire at War. I imagine the buldge on the bow is heavy armour to take massive pounding during head-on attacks.

ah yeah, that thing in EAW. i never liked them, I'd allways target them first in a battle cause they were usually the weakest ones in the fleet, so down with the engines it went.

When playing the rebels, I love them, especially when I havent got any MonCals yet. A fleet of one AAFMk.2, 2 Marauders, 1 Gunship and 1 Corvette can pretty much deal with anything. (Even Captain Piett and his frickin Star Destoyer)

i havent played as rebles yet, i love the imperial way of doing things so much better. also their ships.
i would often build one aclamator-class, a tie squad, a bomber squad, and maby a gunboat, and send this little battlegroup out to capture mining outposts, shipyards, and to use hit and run tacticsa on larger fleets. its really effectuive and cheap way of doing it.
once my friend and I were playing, and i had almost no credits. he had a fleet of like 6 home ones, and two mon calimari. there was a hige ion storm in between his base and mine, so i sent out my little battle groups one after the other, and managed to take out about half of his fleet like this. i didnt win though, but it was awsome.

Goliath class sounds better than David class anyway.
I'd leave it.
