The true story behind this is that Kaoru has OCD
he used to buy packs and packs of cigarettes for him and the band (and some staff I guess Idk)
but since they all quit, his OCD made him too afraid to buy only one pack which is what he needed
so he bought twenty and realized he had to smoke them all before the next day when he needed to buy more
So Smoking isn't his only problem
