Description This is my nameless cat. He is a member of Shadow's Band of Nameless Thieves. They are an all cat organization that eat crickets and scratch my hands. I took this picture one day with my Mom's camera. Before I went out she said that using film on a cats was a waste. She's a good Mom though, she was just traumatized as a child when a cat urinated on her brand new recital dress.

------------------------update-------------------------------------

I went back to my original scan, (this was a film shot, not digital) I did some contrast and sharpness adjustments that I feel made it worth updating.

-----------------------update------------------------------------

I asked my Mother about what kind of camera I borrowed from her that day. It was a Minolta Maxxum 3xi. I'm thinking about playing around with that one again this Spring to see what I think about it now that I know a little bit more about cameras.

Whoa, I just realized that I skimmed too fast the 2nd two updates, and then read them closer AFTER my initial comment.

I just LOVE that this is a film photo.

My mom shot with a Minolta, most of the time when I was a kid. From what I know, they made great film cameras! At least I remember my mom always being happy when she got her photos back!

Thank You very much. My mom has since given me the Minolta camera used for this shot. I was hoping some of the lenses would be compatible with my digital but they are not They were amazing cameras in their day. I think I'm too spoiled with my digital now to actually buy film and wait for it to be processed. That would drive me crazy.

Excellent expression, colour, contrasts, everything! I'm lovin' it!

'Course I can't help be a big fan of these types of sub-galleries, I have a gigantica one myself of cats and dogs- which is also at the top of all the sub-galleries!

But DON'T get me wrong, it's NOT all I do.

I've always wanted to play around with a film camera, but I'm scared I'm too used to digital...

Thank you. I took this years ago before I owned a camera. I convinced my mom to let me use her camera. I didn't really know what I was doing and I sorta just got lucky. When I go home, I'm going to borrow it again to see what I can do with it now that I know a little more.

Digitals are very convenient. It's hard to imagine not being able to see your picture as soon as you take it.

I wouldn't have a clue how to do the lighting... and I would have to actually watch my cropping, which is probably one of my weak points!

well, back in the day when I took this picture, I spent more time with my cats than I did with my family, so I didn't really use words. I just basically made a lot of different meowing and purring sounds. So names really didn't enter in to. It wasn't until my family started asking me about my cats that I had to start naming them.

how can a cat be nameless? i mean, every cat has a personality. or at least, mine.
