The legend of the lost Roman legion in China (originating from a theory put forward by H H Dubs in 1957) states that survivors from the disastrous Battle of Carrhae made their way into Chinese service toward the end of the 1st century BC, and ended their days guarding the city of Liqian in modern Gansu, China. As of now however it is just a legend, and there is no good evidence that such events even happened.
