A Seleucid cataphract based on a late Seleucid (or more probably early Parthian) statuette of an armoured figure in a helmet with possible mask. The greaves probably wouldn't have been worn with boots.

That's the understatement of the century. Wikipedia places the weight at 88 pounds(~40kg).Β  Even if we go up or down five kilos, man, that'd be pure torture, especially when it was mostly used around the Middle East. Β

Well, nobody can say for sure, of course, but think it like this: I live in Greece and during the late spring and summer months, being inside your car while it is stationed is pure agony. Especially if it's a car without air-condition. Now, wearing metal close to skin?
