The day was bright and sunny, just how the pair liked it. Galloping around the course the chestnut mare found herself enjoying the exercise, it was a far cry from spending a long time in a box with one light that shakes every so often. She didn’t know it was an airplane, or the paranoia her rider got every time they unloaded her in case she got motion sick. Ghost was also enjoying the run, herself being powered by pure adrenaline and one cup of tea she had an hour before she was let to take off out of the start box.

Enjoying yourself, huh? She thought, looking down briefly at Jerboa’s neck and the flowing mane that seemed to glitter underneath the German sun. The sun was a refreshing sight from the cold days and enough rain to cause a flood which was currently happening back home, on the other side of the world. Soon, another jump approached, it was an oxer, the sides of it having lush ferns and other small plants decorating and making the jump more inviting. Ghost saw it, and so did Jerboa, and her stride picked up a bit faster and longer around a bend. Jumping was fun! The rush of air past your face, and the feeling like you’re flying in the sky like birds would do every day. That rush came when the thoroughbred leapt up into the air and went over the obstacle with grace, landing as lightly as one could and continuing at a slower pace than the one she approached it with. This horse knew what she was doing, Ghost almost didn’t need to steer. She was thankful of that, and Jerboa would find gratitude in having more freedom in choosing racing down the course, ears flicking at every person and thing that took her interest and eyes as she whizzed past.

The whole course had taken a couple of minutes- at least… Maybe more, but is some areas time felt too quick, or too slow. The river she had run over was long gone, and she went around another bend to find a jump with two pieces. Her view before the bend was covered by trees, which an unfortunate bird had perched in. Seeing what it thought was a predator, took to the sky. It flew up high, its path crossing over where the two were, which was leaping over the jump, ghost had a smile on her face. Oh no, not from the bird, she hadn’t even seen it, but from the stables in her view.
