Its name is Rusty.
Sources of the legend point to an old newspaper article from the early 1960s of a dead body discovered at a river which passed through the tri-county area. The corpse was found on the bank near the local grade school one autumn afternoon, dry and absent from the scene hours before the discovery yet decayed beyond recognition; released news photographs could not indicate if it was male or female. Peculiar of note was that the remnants of clothing were stained with rust and the feet were red as though similarly stained. Legend has it that the victim died of a gunshot to the face, though whether this was from suicide or murder depends on the storyteller. Either way, its mouth is like a large gaping hole, caving inward like a vortex from within.
Nowadays it's spotted in abandoned buildings, usually the old school. People behave strangely after having encountered it and missing person reports flood the news media within the tri-county area after a sighting.
