Trivia: Eddie revels in the fact that his body frightens most people, and often goes out of his way to do things that disturb the other Sons of Nowhere. Some of his favorite pastimes include eating fish and rats alive and "accidentally" adhering himself to one of the others (usually Ratt).

Eddie is surprisingly outgoing for someone with such an unusual appearance. Though extroverted, Eddie is very shifty, and gives the impression that he’s always sizing you up, deciding whether or not to kill and eat you. In truth, that’s exactly what he’s doing. Eddie is a relentless cannibal, and finds that his body becomes filled with energy after eating. Unbeknownst to him, he is not just eating people’s bodies, but their souls as well, adding the missing years of his victims’ lifespan to his own. Eddie has stopped aging almost entirely, appearing to be 14 years old despite his 23 years.

Eddie’s jaws and teeth are abnormally strong, and capable of biting through steel or stripping a cow to its bones in less than two minutes. He secretes a sticky fluid through his skin, allowing him to cling to walls and ceilings by any part of his body. When threatened, his bare hands become sharp enough to rend flesh, bone, and steel. Due in part to his webbed digits, Eddie is able to swim at speeds of up to 250 miles per hour.

Dr. Malone recruited Eddie from the streets of London, where he was living in the basement of a broken-down youth hostel, periodically feasting on those residents brave or foolish enough to live in the “cursed” dormitory. Despite being 20 years of age at that point, even Dr. Malone overlooked Eddie’s unique ability to steal victims’ lifespan, believing him to be a young teenager. It didn’t take much to convince Eddie to become one of the Sons of Nowhere. After all, he was guaranteed a food supply in the form of Shangri-la’s enemies, and his ability to make corpses disappear was invaluable to Dr. Malone’s goal of keeping their operations a secret.
