Here is my interpretation of the character, Derpy Hooves, for my weird story thing, Chasing Paradox. www.fimfiction.net/story/69327…

For my purposes, I've made Derpy small and of a sort of weak build. She also has uncommonly long wings, especially for her body size. This makes gliding very easy for her but also adds to her clumsiness, especially when landing and taking off. Her wings are most similar to a pelican's. She also has the lazy eye, of course, which she has very limited control over, but it does allow her to see almost all the way behind her separate from her main eye.

I always sort of imagined pegasi being a bit fluffier than other ponies because of the mixture of fur and feathers (and also, maybe a bit fluffier so they stay warm in high-atmosphere flights?) I also imagined that a lot of pegasi would have different wing shapes. For example, if I were to draw Rainbow Dash like this, her wings would shorter and pointier, like a peregrine falcon's.
