Navigate the comic by clicking the right edge to go forward, and the left edge to go back. Download HIGHLY recommended.A short 6-page comic entitled Tasseomancy, done for *gwennafran 's TEA contest. I love tea.
There's some background information on the definition of tasseomancy within the animation, and a little historical piece as well.
This is a story a young woman named Marian, as she waits for her lover's return. As she attempts to decipher the remains of the tea in her cup, a gentleman calls upon her door. When she runs to answer the door, she is frozen in fear, and feels faint. The mystery gentleman catches her before her fall, her weakening body in his arms, and his mask begins to drop.

Art wise... I hate hands. A lot, actually.
My ink pen died in the middle, and the new one kept making spontaneous blots.
I would've liked to add more backstory to the woman, like where her lover went, but decided to keep it simple.
There's a lot of detail in this, like the frames and tea cup and calling card.
I hope you enjoy the short comic!

Hmm..I feel like it could have gotten a better place if it was in color. I actually started to color it in a sepia tones, but I didn't have enough time to finish up > A>

Amazing story and artwork! I especially like the clock in the first frames, her face on the first page, and the rose and the card in the last. And the shading. Shading all around.
I think all artists have a mutual hatred of hands. There should be a club.

wow this is great! I love the storybook feel to it, clicking through the pages. This is exactly what I want to do with some images I have drawn (I got them made into a book irl. but wanted a digital version to be able to flick through them/ share it on DA). Ive used flash once before, but I cant remember a thing now. Did you use a tutorial? And is it easy to do?

Well, coding/organizing the images in this way are pretty easy, where you have a frame and a button. Upon pressing the button, the animation proceeds to the next frame with the nextFrame(); code, where the next comic page lies. The button that goes to the previous page is simply a button coded with prevFrame(); .
Unfortunately, I haven't mastered the actual page-turning-animation effect.. however, I know there's a template for that online, and `JohnSu will e uploading a template of his version some time soon maybe..
My way is a lot less fancy, and simple. One day I'll get it to look awesome!
