Description
Children are summer
Not bothered by the harsh sun
Or the sticky heat that clings
No, instead they relish
The days that linger and
The nights that seep through
Into summer dreams
I am no longer a child
But at times I am made
To feel as if I am
And at times
I wish I were
Bring back those days
Of freedom and adventures
When we could run barefoot
Under the sun
Bring back those days
Of homemade lemonade
When we could have two
Ice creams, and not just one
Bring back those days
When ignorance was bliss
When the world and our lives
Had just begun
Bring back the summers
Of years gone past
When life was simpler
And friendships
Were made to last
Because today, I am
Old enough to know better
But not old enough
For my opinion to matter

Ahhh, the confliction of adolescence. We feel that we deserve more freedom, but we're still children in our parent's eyes...
GOD-DAMMIT, YOU JUST REMINDED ME OF THE HEAT. >8C THANKS, CLO!

I was sitting in front of a fan. I'd forgotten about it.

A nostalgic poem describing a situation that we've all been in (or will be). I especially liked the first stanza, as I found it most relatable .

Such a beautiful poem with so much meaning. I was always bothered by the heat, even when I was a kid.
Yupi: You still are a kid.
Anyway, I think this poem represents alot of people I know.
I it, it's made me really think about my childhood.
