Don't know about my eyesight, though I guess I could just be getting used to it more with each passing day?

I'm surprised you're seeing it that way, it's the first time I'm hearing about any bitterness in my works...
Anyway, there are a number of things that may have contributed to whatever changes you're noticing.

The biggest one of them is that my love for the game and the characters was revived, after initially burning out. I found a new inspiration and a new fresh feeling about everything.
And yeah, you're right to say that the changes in my real life were good for me. I managed to fight off quite a few of my personal demons in the past year. (Also I now have three cats, so that's a big help too ) Only natural that it affected my spirit.

Then again, this whole picture was supposed to be the epitome of happiness, at least the way I envision it. (For Ashley's birthday gift I did the major part of work in anticipation of my own birthday, so a part of it might have been absorbed there?) Either way, I'm glad someone can notice whatever real feeling to it

Or it's just coming back, or both. Sometimes the body managed to fix itself.

It's not as drastic as it might have sounded. I didn't mean to say it that harshly, though, but there were, let's say, well, things that seemed kinda strained, or whatever you wanna call it. What I see now is different; it seems more relaxed and just "healthier". The artist always tends to bleed into their works, if they intend to or not. My impression might be wrong, anyway, I don't know.
But hearing your love has come back - it kinda tells me I wasn't that wrong about it.

Passion and dedication and of course, the love for a game or series is the absolute essence of a good fanwork related to the series. Passion's even more important than skill and finesse, to me, at least! What do you think?
What happened your muse came back / a new muse came to you? It's interesting to hear. Something similar happened to me, but not to the same extent.
Have you been through therapy? Fighting demons is always hard... (Been doing it, too, very, very hard)
Haven't had cats anyway? I recall at least one, or I'm imgining it.

It was always visible you strived for depicting happiness. It reached people, no doubt, but like I said earlier, it sometimes had that certain feel about it (not always!) and that has changed to the better now. Especially the posing is so much more dedicated and full of nice details.

Well, idk. Maybe it was just a fresh start: I kinda forgot how to use XPS and had to try everything anew. I mean, I still knew the basics, but some things slipped past me, and I picked up something new instead?
Also, a lot more models became available for work now than half a year ago. Bigger choice, more opportunities, more ideas = INSPIRATION!

As for what brought me back to Mass effect... Hehehe, you may laugh, but my feelings for it were reborn after I played Jade Empire and read some stuff on Greek mythology It's kinda complicated.
And no therapy for me. Unless you count a couple of conversations with a somewhat wise adult this... I simply got back to a real work, which allowed me to deal with some of my issues, been thinking and contemplating things, and new circumstances let me hang out with my best friend more often. Oh, and THREE cats. I used to have only one. With a couple more it became a lot more fun for all of us.

I'm still an Aries, yes :3

Actually, I went back to it and have been working on minor stuff for a while now, but figured I'd make a grand return entrance with a big thing for a special occasion Such as Ash's birthday.
Been holding on to it for weeks!

watching these guys together, reminds Steve of the happy times he had with his husband, which makes him nostalgic and kind of jealous of what those three have...

Oh, I've been around.
Been on a lengthy break from everything Mass effect... But a couple of months ago my love for it was reborn and I feel inspired to make stuff again!
Though now my rl job is keeping me busy and I don't have as much time for it, as I used to.
But I'm not going anywhere, that's for sure
