Description
monday's child is fair of faceThis is the first in a series of seven images that I'm hoping to occupy myself with these holidays. Inspired by the old nursery rhyme, I'm going to be taking each line and running it through my imagination to come up with images.
This is monday's child.
Much love to the guys over at DigitalMedia for helping out with critiques and many thanks to the stock artists out there for all of the wonderful stock that they allow us artists to use.

Is monday's child really fair of face?

Wow, it's really changed since you showed me the WIP. The heads are disturbing, they definately remind me of that Star Trek episode I mentioned "The Mark of Gideon". I like how you have them swathed in smoke, like faces peering out of the dark in a seedy bar.

The colours and tones in this are very well done, but I think there is something odd in the compositing of the girl and the floor, the perspective seems to warp her and make her look taller than she should be.

I know what you mean. I tried editing the dress to make her seem a little more to scale, but I think the perspectives of all the different shots don't mesh together very well. It's something that I have to remedy, but I think would do better if I retook the stock pictures myself. I've just opened up a stock account and I'm going hunting for good locations around here for photography tomorrow, so I'll see what I can fabricate from there. Thank you for taking the time to comment, hun. It's appreciated.

You and your smoke.
Hehe, I love the way this has turned out, Kari. And I think is was a wise decision to change the model. It looks great. The only think I would look out for is the edges of the smoke (they might look better with softer edges). But Really, you and your imagination. Looks great. <3

I'm a pyromaniac, what more can I say?
Thanks, hun. I'll give that a try once I've extracted the model for tuesday's child and soften some of those edges. You rock.

Seems to be interesting.
But what's this old nursery rhyme?

It's about the days of the week.
Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child born on the Sabbath Day,
Is fair and wise and good and gay.
That would be the poem there.

It'll be sure to stretch my imagination. It's been rusty for a little while, so I can't wait.
Thank you!
