Hmm im tryig my hand again at digital drawings...if you didnt realise...this pic is the digital version of my 'a lone ranger' pic...hmm its still a work in progress...hm i am thinking of excluding the guy...and replacing him with trees or something... i thought the pic would look too crowded with him and the closer wolf in the forground so i had to axe one of them...and of course it was the guy hehe *bows head in mourning* he will be missed..but any way what do you guys think? give me tips to improve it please (i am more likely to follow them with this pic coz its still a WIP) and can someone please tell me how to draw convincing trees? mine are turning out to be these pathetic stick things that look more like green telegraph poles..
..its not very pretty.. okies enjoy!!

I don't know how you did it, but that looks awesome! I particularly love the eye. (If you don't mind me asking so, what exactly is a WIP?) And the highlights on the fur from the moon behind him!
To draw good trees: practise? You've already got the realistic style down pat. I bet you could draw realistic trees in no time at all. Did you use any references for the Lone Ranger pic? --- let alone, this one?

hehe um a WIP stands for "work in progress" so im still working on this pic...one reason for uploading it was so that i could get suggestions from other ppl on how to improve it..and if you check out "WIP - Wolves II" you can see the changes i have made..
yeh that is what i was thinking as welll- practice...ai.. but im trying to find shortcuts and stuff...lol i am sooo lazy these days...
With the wolves (from the lone ranger) i did use a references- both references were pics of real wolves but the guy..i think i tried to use my bro's jawline etc for the guy ...but im dont think that worked out that well.. the time period i drew the lone ranger i think i was using references for most of my pics...ive moved away from using referneces now - unless im drawing portraits...um.. with the actual colouring on this pic, it was all from my imagination and experimentation...and i also had a few suggestions from my bro aswell..so thanks also goes to him...

Holy M***** F****** S***. Woah!!!! My gward... this is like the best digital work you've done and probably the best I've seen. The fur must have taken you forever... It looks so real.
Okaies two things... the wolf in the background looks a bit weird... It looks two 2-dimensional (flat), it needs a more 3-D look ... perhaps the outer bit of the fur could stand out more or somthing...... Oh that white bit in the middle of the wolf at the back, looks a bit strange too.
And I think you should make the rocks a different colour, not something soooo different just a bit differnt... the picture merges too much with all the grey/black, another colour will help to contrast the wolf up front (but make the colour dullish, so that the wolf will stand out.)
Hum... I don't know about trees... It just looks soo good.... wouldn't the green wreak the mood? Anything else you could put there instead?
Two things that I really really really really like about the picture - the wolf's eye and fur. (Wooosh... *faints*)
So when its finished I'll fav this!!!!!!!!!

hmm more brown for the rocks? i was thinking of making it the grey colour you usually see in rocks but now that you mention the contrasting.. i will change it...
the trees are practically going to be black...just a bit green where the light falls on them...i dont know how i will place the trees tho...

This is beautiful. One of these days I'll get better doing the digital thing. Wolves are my favorite animals. And you did them so well...I mean...wow. *throwing two thumbs up

Do you mean am i working on something new that have wolves in it? - not at the moment... i have a few drawings of other things that are half drawn but it will be centuries before i can get them up...im not doing any digital works at the moment either...hmm hopefully i have answered your question
