I've been coming across a few of those lately... really makes me want to give up on the program I've been writing and learn one that's already made, but none of the ones I've found will let me do the things I wanna do!

How long have you been working on the software? Β No reason to give up, you could always experiment with software created by others, and get ideas for your own in the process! Β The world needs more fractal software in it I think

What are you attempting to achieve with your specific piece of software?

I never had much of a specific goal with it, mostly I just wanted to see if i could after a minor binge on some popular physics/mathematics books. I've never been very good at learning a thing without actually doing it. So now I have a very temperamental bit of javascript that uses threejs to spit out all of the points in every escape path for a grid of a specified size. I was more interested in playing with mandelbrot than in learning to write decent 3d code and wound up with a bit of a turd that seems to give me some fairly unique results

Keep playing with it, sometimes the most interesting work comes from rustic tools. Β In the meantime, Mandelbulb 3D and Mandelbulber are both excellent free pieces of 3D Mandelbrot focused renderers, and I think Incendia has a free version too. Β If you're willing to pay real money for your software then Xenodream looks like an absolutely amazing tool.
