Pictures from the making of this weirdo. (Wait, hyperlinks work now? Yesterday they didn't!)
I think this shows pretty well how all the parts are attached, the wires in the legs, and how the head turns around... then again, I've made that thing, so of course it seems obvious to me.
It definitely shows how much it sucks to work under electric light, too.
I didn't start taking pictures until I was more-or-less sure about what am I actually making (I just knew I was going to make something striped at first, started with the head, it came out kind of lizard-shaped, and I took it from there), so they're all from what I call the "IKEA stage": the parts are already made, you just put them together... in reality, this is the most frustrating part of the whole process. It takes hours and the whole time, it looks as if you're not actually doing anything and it's progressing so slowly, and you have to hold the whole thing in your hand as opposed to the individual pieces, and there are so many things sticking out of it, around which the thread keeps wrapping... ugh.
But you know what's fun about it? You get to pretend you're a mad surgeon! It's alive!
