Description Pardon the old sprites, the more current sheet is on a different computer that I don't have access to, currently.

------

A number of you guys may remember this lovely Zero clone of mine character of mine that has been remade and reworked more times than I care to admit. Zero has always been a favorite character of mine for a number of reasons, which I guess is partly why I keep coming back to this character. You may know her as her "reborn" name, Z, or as her original name, Serra, or you may not know her at all. For those that do, I'm sure you'll recognize a few things that are similar with her backstory.

As always, if anything sounds confusing or isn't clear, please let me know. I try and follow canon for the most part, so if I overlook something or contradict something from the games please let me know. I also feel like pointing out that I follow the head canon that Vent/Aile do not find Model Z right away after the events of ZX: Advent. Please bare this in mind as you read.

Name: Serra Xen
Alias: Z
Physical Age: 16
Mental Age: 19
Hair Colour: Amber
Eye Colour: Blue
Height: 5 foot, 6 inches (~168 cm)
Weight: 120 pounds
Biometal: Model Z
Lore: Serra was born into a family of scientist who worked for a private organization on Biometal and Mega Man research. This organization received funding through Legion to run tests on recovered Biometal as well as attempt to reverse engineer the technology behind them so they could better understand them, and even mass produce them, if necessary. The head scientist of this business was Serra's father, Richard. He was a well respected individual in his field by his peers and even those outside the field knew him for his work; he was a legend of sorts, having been behind the technology that allowed both Human and Reploid kind to co-exist as Humanoids. Richard's wife, Lilly, was well known for her skills as well, being an excellent AI designer and system manager. Great things were expected of their child when she was born, but with great expectations comes pressure. From an early age Serra could feel the pressure on her, not from her parents, but from her instructors and those around her. She rebelled, opting to explore and play "s word fight" as she called it with friends rather than learn her mathematics. Her parents knew that with time, she would come to appreciate the logical arts, and that for them to take her away from her childhood would only hinder her imagination and creative potential in the future.

By the age of 6, Serra had calmed slightly and, while she still liked to play pretend and "sword fight," she knew the importance of her studies and made every effort to live up to her parents expectations. Maverick attacks were becoming more frequent and, as a result, her parents started to get a little more strict about her freedom, limiting her time outside the home and forbidding her from leaving the city all together, unless with one of her parents. Reluctantly she agreed, and life continued on. Every time Maverick attacks were on the news her parents would remind her that she wasn't to be outside alone, and to never leave the city. This continued for 10 years until she was 16 and had finished the majority of her schooling. Her parents were called away for a meeting at Legion, some big break through on a project that another group had been working on that Master Albert had commissioned himself. Serra begged her parents to let her go with them, but they told her it was dangerous and that the project was top secret. Reluctantly she watched her parents leave, and what would have been her last time seeing her mother alive.

It happened quickly, before anyone realized what was going on. A large Maverick raid had intercepted the convoy containing Serra's parents and, once done, made their way to the city itself, quickly laying waste to everything in their path. With no time to morn the loss of his wife, Richard ran back as quick as he could to at least try and save his daughter. He found her upstairs in her room, cowering in fear as a giant mechaniloid loomed over her. Quickly, he dashed at the robot and knocked it off balance. Richard grabbed his daughter and the two fled downstairs to the basement where Richard had his own personal projects only to find it too had been overrun by mechaniloids. With no where to turn, Richard saw that their only hope was an experimental weapon that he had been working on. Wasting no time he quickly made his way toward it, and with it's assistance they were able to fend off the mechaniloids long enough for the Slither Inc. response forces to deal with the remaining Mavericks.

As the response forces began tending to the injured, Richard realized that Serra had become injured herself. At first she played it off as nothing, but as her adrenaline began to leave her, it became more apparent that the wound was more severe than she lead him to believe. Realizing that time was short, Richard did the only thing he could think of doing. To save his daughter's life, he broke the law and transferred her consciousness to a Reploid body. Of course, the original body was rather crude, a prototype for some personal project of Lilly's. The two made their way to Legion, seeking shelter.

At Legion, Richard continued to work on Serra's body, giving it several upgrades and final touch-ups bringing it out of the Prototyping stage. The two realized what he had done in order to save her life was illegal and would have resulted in the death of both of them, so the two decided on coming up with a cover-up story. Using his connections from work, Richard was able to access Legion's Reploid Database and create a fake identification for his daughter under the name of Z. She was an ancient Reploid that had been discovered and that he took in after losing his wife and daughter to keep company. She was given a lifespan equal to that of the rest of Reploids of her kind and for a few months everything seemed to return to normal.

However, as the events of the Game of Destiny began, Richard was once again called to Legion, this time for something that he couldn't tell his daughter anything about. She thought it was odd, but acknowledged that his work was important in making the future better, so she didn't pester him much about it. On the night before he left, Richard confronted Z about his work; he told her that something had happened as a result of something called a 'Model W' and that the world would soon be in more danger than it had ever been before. Not wanting to lose his daughter, he had devised a plan to keep her safe; a weapon system that would be integrated into her system so that she could fight off mechaniloid threats if one should arise while they were separated. He explained it would take some time for the system to be installed in her Reploid system and that she would need to go offline for it, but that he had a simulation created that would allow her to continue existing while her body was offline. Serra eventually agreed, and before she knew it she was hooked up to the system and waving goodbye to her father as her Reploid body shut down and she was sent into a digital Cyber Space to exist while her body was upgraded.

Two months after the defeat of Master Albert and Ouroboros, Z awoke. The lab she had gone to sleep in had been ransacked and abandoned, but the capsule she was in had been left untouched. Panic set in as she soon realized she had been in Cyber Space longer than she had expected. She struggled to get out of the capsule that had been her home for the past years as a system alert informed her that while the weapon system had successfully be integrated into her systems, something else had as well, which was likely the result for her extended hibernation. She made her way through the lab, searching for any signs of who, or what, might have done this to her home, found only a data disk. The file was heavily corrupted but what little she was able to make out appeared to be an apology from her father. He knew that something was going to happen to her, but he was to late to do anything about it.

She wondered around the remains of her home and came across a fragment of metal. The metal appeared to be alive and referred to itself as 'Model Z' and that if she could understand it that they must be biomatches. Confused, but with no one else to call a friend, Z agrees with Model Z's suggestion for the two of them to travel together so that they can find who they are looking for; Z looking for her father, and Model Z looking for Vent and Aile.

Yeah well her story changes a lot each time I rework her. More adaptive than a Ditto.

Yeah, but I think I've finally settled on a combination of all the things about her previous stories that I liked that I'm comfortable sticking with, at least for the time being.
