A very unimpressive Splash Woman.
Haha I don't think it turned out very well, I was trying to draw something relatively quick to test out marker on some card stock I have. The pose and/or the perspective are awful lol... The color didn't really bleed, but it started to get that 'streaked' look. Boo.

I love markers, too! Β I want to work with them a lot more, my problem is that I'm lazy... Β
A craft store like Michael's will carry gel pens, usually in their scrapbook area. Β I was using the Sakura gelly roll, but it didn't work very well. Β The tip clogs up very fast with paper fiber, and no matter how I tried to clean it or force the ink through, I couldn't get it to write after only a few uses. Β I recently tried the Uniball Signo UM-153, and that works nicely. Β But! Β You can get the same (and probably better) result with some white acrylic paint and a very thin paintbrush. Β

It's written with Copic in mind, but you could apply the same ideas with any other marker brand. Β It's a nice reference, and has a section about blending other mediums (like colored pencil, pastel, acrylic paint) with your marker work. Β

I happen to think this picture is quite impressive. Splash woman is the new favorite female of the Megaman series, and I think you did her justice despite what you might have though. I actually like her better than I like Leviathan from the Megaman Zero series.
If you did improve it, the only thing I can think of is a more detailed background. I personally think it's fine the way it is though.
