In 2014, NBC, to commemorate the fact that Friends had ended 10 years ago, decided to launch a series of comics with self-contained adventures of the characters that the American public had fallen in love with for almost a decade.

In total it is a series of 12 comics, each one released one month of the year, where the main protagonists of the series live unpublished adventures, ideas that the scriptwriters had at the time, but that were discarded for other plots, which they thought could better excite the public.

In October, "The One with the Creepy Hypnotist" was published, an adventure in which Monica and Rachel return from their respective jobs to their apartment, but curiosity leads them to volunteer at a hypnosis show, where they do tricks and other typical things that we can see in these shows.

That night, a series of robberies occur throughout the neighborhood, and no one knows who it was. All week the police cannot find the thieves. Then one night Ross hears noises and alarmed, goes to see what is happening, only to be greeted with a surprising revelation: Rachel and Monica sleepwalking while they repeat mantras that they must obey their master. From here, Ross, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe try to stop their hypnotized friends before it's too late.

After reading the comic, I have to confess that although the theme is not something you could find in a series like Friends, the writers (who are the scriptwriters of the series) manage to make the reader feel like they are watching an episode of the series. They have managed to fit the plot perfectly with the tone of the series. When you read various comments from boys about the hypnotized state of girls, you can imagine the canned laughter in the background.

I would highlight some great moments in this comic: First, when the hypnotist asks the girls to volunteer. Rachel is quite enthusiastic, but Monica is quite skeptical and says that there is no way that will work on her, only to fall into a trance after two seconds of looking at the pocket watch. The hypnotist teases her a little by saying that every time he snaps his fingers, she will say: "You were right, master. I am easily hypnotizable."

Second, I would also highlight the moment in which the hypnotized Monica and Rachel arrive where the hypnotist is hiding to give them the loot. The part where the hypnotist thanks his slaves is enjoyable, patting Rachel's head and pinching Monica's cheek in a friendly manner.

And finally, I highlight the climax of the story. When the boys confront the hypnotist. Ross tries to appeal to his love for Rachel while the hypnotist mocks the boy's pathetic attempts to wake her up. I'm not going to reveal anything else about this part just to keep the mystery of how this story ends.

In conclusion, this story is great, introducing a new type of plot that has never been seen before in the series but doing it in such a way that it doesn't seem like something that breaks with the general tone. If it had been released as just another episode, I'm sure it would be well remembered by fans.
