For several years after the undermen arrived, Zeal fought against the imprisonment and oppression they were suffering from humanity.
He claimed the undermen were superior beings and should use their abilities to rebel and take their rightful place high above mankind - even in a time when the few undermen who existed were no more than a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits who only cared about getting high and blowing up trains.
