After she became a Party Girl, she learned that she liked nothing more than relaxing at the hidden base after a long day and refreshing her brainwashing. The screen played a montage of footage meant to instill happiness in her: soldiers in Kim Il Sung Square marching, WPK officials making speeches, women in hanbok singing.

All the while, the voices on the headphones whispered to her, told her to watch and let her love of the DPRK wash over her. They told Monica that her life was so much better now, that she could live without stress or sadness. She didn't need to worry about making the wrong decisions or embarrassing herself.

She could let North Korea think for her. She would do no wrong if she followed the wisdom of Kim Jong Un. All would be well if she simply obeyed.
