Laura Thompson would never have considered such a thing when she was still in control of her mind, but now that she was a Sleepwalker, what she was being told truly did make sense.

The Mormon theology that was a part of her since childhood was remarkably compatible with service to Hypnoman. Had the woman whose home she now sat in now used a hypnotic projector on her before saying she, Laura would have surely rejected this notion, but there was no denying it now.

There was too much overlap for her to see it any other way.

Just like her and women like her among Engine City’s Mormon population, the Sleepwalkers drew strength from their community, seeking to build it up as best they could. No matter their background or ethnicity or class, every Sleepwalker was a sister.

Just like Laura and her ‘sisters’ in faith, they were industrious. They labored without question or complaint to realize Hypnoman’s sinister vision. They worked and schemed tirelessly to bring more women into the fold.

Just like the LDS church, there was a paramount leader for the Sleepwalkers. Hypnoman’s power was absolute and undeniable. His orders were practically gospel.

The hive. The Sleepwalkers exalted the beehive just as Laura did. Many were soldiers, many were workers, but every woman who served Hypnoman was a drone nonetheless. Unified by a divine vision and ennobled by labor.

It was obvious to her now. The Mormon women in Engine City would make fantastic Sleepwalkers. It would be foolish for her not to go amongst the women she called sisters and bring her master’s evil gospel to them. She knew they’d accept it.

After all, they’d have no choice in the matter. Every woman she went to as part of her ‘missionary work’ would see the truth as she did and then go on to join her as a fellow missionary.

The Mormon community of Engine City would be taken over from within. Its women would become Sleepwalkers, drones of Hypnoman’s glorious hive.

It would be as Hypnoman, her new prophet, foresaw.
