Background
Yasu grew up in a seaport city since his father is a wealthy merchant who exports goods. As a kid, he had two childhood friends, Tsuki and Kenzo. It was Kenzo that convinced them they should become warriors when they're older (they spent a lot of time playing samurai with sticks) Sadly, a terrible plague spread through the city and took Kenzo's life. Distraught over his best friend's death, Yasu decided to become a doctor and traveled abroad at age 16 to study medicine. Six years later he returned to Japan to use the skills he'd learned over seas, only to discover a fighting league that had become popular in the country during his leave.

Personality
Yasu is a very kind person with a big heart. Never turning away a sick person, even if they have no money to pay. He loves to joke around and almost never seems to get angry. He's also very quick-witted and has an extremely good memory. However, known to many women in town, Yasu can be quite the ladies man. In his free time Yasu is either flirting with women or eating at his favorite restaurants.

Fighting
Yasu's fighting is based on a mixture of different styles and such he's memorized. With a near photographic memory, he can copy moves he's seen. However, his actual physical strength is on the weak side, so he depends on quick movements and strategies to over come opponents. Yasu's weapons consist of his staff, a sword, and a variety of concoctions he's invented (including sticky bombs, sneezing powder, anesthetics, and a paralysis ointment he can use on needles).

Noboru
Yasu's pet bird. He found it as a baby when it's nest had been knocked out of a tree by a storm. Noboru's a smart little bird and can even carry letters or retrieve a few herbs and plants that Yasu uses for medicines. His favorite treat is sunflower seeds.

Current Story
It's been a year since Yasu's joined SDL. He's met new friends, dealt with some unusual characters, and dropped from the 2009 Championships due to severe injures. Yasu had been on hiatus, that is, until he was invited to join the Inari-Dan. Shortly after his new membership, the League's Daimyo was assassinated during the Championship Banquet. With the Samurai Duelers League on it's own hiatus, Yasu's adventures continue here.
