Background: He, his 6 other brothers and father lived in a village north of Vale, hunters didn't come there often so Reck's family were the protectors of the village. They weren't hunters, but they could hold off atacking grimm when necesary, one day though, his father got recruited to the white fang, but left because he didn't have any interest in joining them. He was stamped as a traitor and hunted down. after that, one by one, Reck's brothers were recruited, and they all declined. Than a gigant group of Grimm atacked the village, probably atracted by the white fang, they destroyed the village and killed Reck's brothers, who defended the village with all their might. Reck however, was the youngest of them all and didn't have a personal weapon, when he and several other villagers survived and ran off, Reck took his fathers ripper shotgun and started training. He ended up in an combat school with the money left by his father and began his training to become a proper hunter.
