Description
This is an illustration drawn by me of my fictional little boy Timothy. Here six-year old Timothy is trying to ride his bike alongside the River Lea canal, but his bike's training wheels have high-centred his back wheel in a rut and as he pedals the back wheel just spins uselessly. He doesn't give up trying though... hehe.This scene is set in August 2030.

I was reading your description when I saw you mentioned a "gravel towpath of the canal". By any chance is the background of this picture inspired by the Pennsylvania/New Jersey Bicycle Towpath? It's an area a friend brought me to while we rode our bikes up to New Hope and visited/ate in at The Inn at Lambertville Station.
This is a really nice picture of the towpath and you've got a nice story behind the picture too.

I have a thing about bikes with training wheels... I find it cute when they pedal, but they just spin, and spin, and spin.
