I haven't been doing photography for several months, I just haven't been emotionally attached to it lately. However, your little review made me want to be in that mindset again. Maybe it's time to take the camera out again, eh?

I really like the emotion expressed in this photo!
The only advice I would suggest is to bring out more highlights in the face and violin. The light in the back is very centered and brighter than the highlights on the subject, so it distracts me from what is supposed to be the focus of the photo.
Otherwise, I love this! I can't help but also stare at his glasses. So pretty--

I love this photo,there are all the things a good photo must have: right depth of field ( using a "little" depth of field you placed the right emphasis to the subject,"cutting off" the background),an interesting framing and also the colours are perfect: not only black,white and only one or two kinds of grey but all the tones. I can imagine the original colours of the subject with precision,and for this the photo isn't flat but very vivid,and this is not easy when you make a photo in black and white. It's very interesting also the fact that I can see four levels: the background,the vertical level of the face of the man,the horizontal one of the violin and the perpendicular one of the bow. The union of these plans creates a very strong graphical effect . Then there is the most important thing: this photo gives me an emotion. You captured the essence of that moment,the concentration of the musician and his inner world: I can even see the years he spent learning how to play the violin!
