That's true XD I had to cut out a lot of danger on my last comic to keep it short. It still ended up as 3 issues though rather than the 2 originally planned... oops XD

I have never read a story that looks at what the implication of "nekomimi" and people with animal parts in general would be (I mean there are some themes in your story similar to X-Men but yours is focused on animal people, the times when I saw people with animal parts in anime this was either seen as completely normal as with Sailor Luna in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon or the Sailor Animamates in the comics and TV shows of Sailor Moon or even as positive as with Tokyo Mew Mew that transform into people with animal parts).

It's pretty old work now so please don't judge it too harshly
Bubble and Marzi is a shorter story so the dark themes don't get touched on as much but this one will be the same with the writing in a way, dark themes underneath but adventure story on the surface.

Funnily enough I originally wrote the story when I was 13 which is the same age as most of the characters XD 13yr old me didn't care XD

lolol Yeah . . . I wrote Lola and the Lonely Warrior as around the same age as myself too although Bronia is way younger. I think generally people have a tendency to write characters (not necessarily main characters but at least important supporting characters) in their own age range . . . Although young adult books are super popular now and a lot of people who aren't young adults write for them.

Yeah also I think there's a bit of anxiety about writing a POV from a different age, worry that you won't represent it accurately. There are a lot of adults who write books with younger characters from first person, they have the courage to do it because they remember somewhat what it was like to be a teen/started the book when they were a teen, but I don't know if its the same for writing older characters. I would guess there are more books with older protagonists written in third person. Or conversely the story may have originally been written at one age but then the writer realized/someone told them the character thinks at the same age as the author so they had to change it to keep a semblance of realism lol
I don't think its a bad thing. Its amazing to be able to write a story even if it is closer to your own personal experience in some elements. Putting your experience to paper in a compelling way that will interest others and maybe even get them to relate is quite an accomplishment. I also think the more you write, the better you are able to reflect other perspectives and the more comfortable you get with them.

That's true, it takes skill to write a character who doesn't think the way you do, or lacks some of the wisdom you've learnt over the years because they just aren't old enough to know that yet.
