Personality Wise: Echo is the embodiment of Uly’s inner child and absolute love of technology. He’s energetic, fun loving, and imaginative. Why sit and do nothing when there’s a whole big world out there to explore? Echo has things to do, places to see, computers to play with. Still his introverted self, Echo prefers the company of computers rather than actual people, finding them easier to talk to and much less complicated. This does not mean he dislikes people completely, as they prove to provide a source of entertainment, and Echo gets bored easily. He’s more than happy to enjoy the company of one or two friends, but crowds are iffy.
Ability Wise: Computers are this little glitch’s playground. When in contact with any machine of any kind, Echo has the ability to hack into its systems and take control. With a simple touch, some time, and concentration, he has the ability to talk directly to a computer, just as easy as talking to a living person. He is an IT worker’s worst nightmare. He can pull files, rearrange code, reprogram systems, anything he can get his little glowing blue fingers on. The larger, more complicated a computer is; the more time Echo requires to breach its systems. Hacking something as small and simple as a flip phone, for example, would take only a few seconds. On the other hand, hacking something as large as a medical database would be unfeasible due to its complexity. Besides this, Echo is a very quick footed mask, zipping from one place to another, using his ability Levitate to travel faster.
Echo’s mask is shiftable. It is divided up into two moving mechanical parts, the Visor Screen, and the actual mask strapped to his head. To remove the mask, Uly must slide the whole mask up and over his head like a helmet. Echo prefers his visor down, as it provides him constant updates and data feeds on his environment and systems. The visor only provides feedback on the surrounding area that Uly could attain himself. However, rather than getting close to something to confirm what he sees, the visor provides feedback for Echo. For example, if Echo were to come across a feral Pokémon, the visor would display what species it is the way a Pokedex would - but not the pokemon's moveset, until it becomes a known variable. Without his visor, as in the case of it being damaged, or simply moved up, Echo is less coordinated, slower, less aware of his surroundings, and overall more vulnerable.
Echo’s face is a literal computer screen. It can display a wide range of emojis, text, pictures, and videos, depending on his overall mood and what he is doing at the time. Some examples are but not limited to “XD”, “LOL” ,”^^”, “<3” ,“: D”, “ಠ_ಠ”.
Echo uses his screen display to communicate with others, via emojis or text. Recordings from various sources are also remixed and played through speakers. When speaking normally, Echo’s voice is slightly distorted, sounding much like a machine.
Like Ulysses, one of Echo's favorite past-times is gaming.
