Now that is a commission I enjoyed! This one is forI am a Star Wars fag ever since I can remember, I thik I said that already. No particular setting was requested for this commission, but I imagine... Clone Wars, maybe? Always liked this period.

I was always more the fan of the NJO era myself, between the factions, the massive shift in politics, and well, the freaking jedi counters in the vong. (Glad they put that in there personally. Even if it was something most hated.)

Clone wars was an interesting time, but i personally prefer the Old republic era, when Jedi & Sith wore armor and actually used saberstaffs and dual wielded and such.Β

That would be correct, Green and blue were the most common. The orange, purple and yellow crystals were extremely rare. Sith crystals were commonly synthetic, however, and imbued with the hate of the user. and of course, after the fall of the galactic empire and the rise of the new jedi order, the foci that were used ranged from gemstones to quartz to actual focus crystals. The crystals did power the blade, but were not actually required to have been actual focus crystals from the caves of ilum or other force imbued locations. All that was required was that the focus be imbued with the force, which is why random joe could wield a saber, he just wouldn't be as good as an actual force user.

I actually knew that.
And originally blue, green, and yellow were used to indicate which jedi branch the person belonged to.
the blue one represented the guardians, who used the force on a more physical level; like obi wan kenobi.
the green represented the councilars, which were more diplomats and scolars; like yoda.
the yellow one reresented the sentinels, a balance between the two who often combined force and conventional tools; like plo koon (also seen with blue lightsaber if i recall right).
As for the red one; it was as you said snythetic and used by the sith. Its advantage was that it canonically improved the user's raw strength in the force. Notable users are all sith members (seriously, why the hell? why would palpatine risk carrying a lightsaber at all before he rose to power as a lord?)
It's also believed each color holds a certain power, allthough to what extent that is can be debated, so i won't start that discussion here.

I mean from what I know Clone Wars seem to be pretty much universally hated amongst Star Wars fans.
Me personally, I liked the old traditionally animated Clone Wars series that run on Cartoon Network back in 2003 (it might have been a tad later than that in Poland). As for the newer CG stuff I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other as I didn't watch much of it, tho from what I've seen it does have some stupid things in it, as well as some stuff that is just downright fun (as well as stuff that is both of those things). As for the movies, I'm one of those people who actually like prequel trilogy just fine.
