So it's something of a tradition for me to draw angels to go on top of my family's christmas tree. We're super irreligious, but angels are pretty and christmas is fun, so we decided to do it anyway :3

First year was kind of boring - just a blonde lady in a white dress - and was a pretty bleh drawing >.<; She doesn't get used any more. Then we had a strictly white/blue/purple-toned theme for a few years, so I drew a new one in pastel blues and such. Then we finally got around to doing some "traditional colours" years, so I drew another one with a big red robe and gold highlights.

This year, the mum and sister decided they wanted classy "rich" colours, which sort of boiled down to "saturated and dark" + "desaturated and light". I decided none of the existing angels matched, hence this lovely thing :3 I thought I'd make her really different by giving her dark hair (angels are, like, always blonde >.<; ), and then I wanted dark skin because it's sexy and my angels have been decidely Aryan so far

I am so very pleased with her <3 She has no wings because she has separate feathery wings that will be stuck on later, and no colour on her halo because that was added in later with a nice dark gold paint pen.

I should make this into a christmas card...

(Update: To my own considerable surprise, I put together a background for her! Resources used include ~bazzabent-stock 's angel wings, =kuschelirmel-stock 's grunge border and `cloaks ' Vintage texture pack. Thanks guys!)
