"But you can't rule me no more
I'm packed to go and out the door
And here's to you, old friend
Here's to never seeing your face again..."
Flat-coloured version of this one . I'll probably scrap it when I do a shaded version, but flats are useful for colour reference anyway. Chopped out the backgrounds entirely because I'm sick of even thinking about them >.<; I think this gives them a nice sort of look.
I hope I'm not spoilering with this, but Skri is essentially the result of a "mad scientist" type boss who tried to hybridise different species of Hyrule. Skri is one of his resounding successes, a Hylian/Goron mix. In game terms, he'd be a recurring miniboss who keep wrecking bits of the dungeon rather than fighting you.
Annoying picture to colour, like it though I do... I did his skin way too dark, his tattoos the wrong colour, and his hair red. Frsk. Well, now he looks proper goron-colours, at least. It's not like I couldn't change those colours, since he's a magicky hybrid anyway, but I think he needed the colours to look Goron-ish at all. And anyway, I think he looks better this way :3 *strokeshair*

He doesn't look very Goron, apart from the color scheme in general; but I imagine I'd think otherwise if he punched me.
Love the detail on his pants. And, of course, the MANCHEST. At last, Fox draws a manly man! XD

Yeah, the goron part isn't really obvious; visually it's only expressed in his colours (and his size - he's like 7'6"). His hide is very rocky, though, and he has the goron fire resistance/water weakness :3

Ohmy. Yeah, his height wouldn't have been apparent in this single shot.
Experimenter dude did a pretty good job, then.

Ostensibly, his skin is quite hard, like keratin, he can wade through lava unaffected, can't swim, and is damn near impossible to hurt. When you eventually fight him as a boss, I imagine you'd have to tip him off a stage, or have him destroy the stage around you.

Interesting.
That would be some insanely heat-resistant keratin. But, I get what you're saying.
It seems water would be the only way to defeat him. But wait, Gorons can survive underwater too... Uh oh.

Wait, don't Gorons die in the water? Goron-Link certainly does.

Maybe in Majora's Mask, but in Twilight Princess, at some point in the game, a Goron gets stuck in a volcano rock and you save the Zoras from the ice that was imprisoning them with that still warm volcanic rock. Later, you get water bombs and you're able to free the Goron. He seemed to be just fine underwater...

Ohyeah, I forgot about that guy! Well, Skri is OoT era technically (even though I patterned him after TP Goron colours, on account of them looking really good on him >.<. So I guess it's a mystery.

That would be some insanely heat-resistant keratinIt'd need to be some bloody special keratin to be full-body like that, too. Fortunately, this is a highlight example of 'A Wizard Did It.'
And yeah, Skri is supposed to be a real force of nature. Ideally, the protaganists of the story - when they get him working on their side - would need to have something distracting him from the thrust and gist of the plot. Such as, say, holding up a bridge or something so they can get away.

That's true. The answer to most mysteries in fantasy worlds, eh?
It is probably the only and best option.

Well, it's not the only answer. For the most part, though, it's never fun to interrupt a novel to dump a cellular biology class on anyone. For the most part, one would have to assume that such work was the result of the rules being different, and deal with it.

I was only saying that getting Skri on your side is the best option. Also, I understood what you were saying when you said his body isn't made of flesh but a harder material able to withstand heat and damage; sorry for my bad joke and for the misunderstanding.
I apologize, I had no intention of offending you in any way...

Does he have any Goron traits? I imagine his bones are made of solid stone...
Good work.
