The massive gate rose from the waters, its presence mighty yet calming, like an ever watchful guardian.Tried 3 point perspective and making the most of textured brushes.

It isn't just the perspective that's amazing here, with the point of view that you chose being really dramatic and striking, but also the colors, so soft and dreamy, and the lighting like a sunset or daybreak.

Thank you! And yeah, my main brush changed from something more noisy (which tends to look traditional) to something cleaner, because it gives me more control over the shape. Who knows, I might change brushes again, but I do enjoy the clean look as well, especially for dark and bright colours and more subtle contrasts.

Yeah, I've got some plant brushes and cloud brushes and 'freckle brushes' in Photoshop. It's basically just a custom shape that you can apply to the canvas.

I'm not sure either. I have this vague idea that people (or not-people?) built it to honour their gods, or to impress strangers that would enter their lands from the sea, but that still makes it hard to explain its massive size and good condition. Who knows?

Looks great. I love the different surface-looks. Like, the water, the gate and the woodlands on the cliffs look all so differend, yet they greatly fit together.
