I now have a new headcanon-
Sans doesn't like having his powers. I honestly believe that this thing is more of an exclusive extent of magic that very few monsters have access to, in which Sans being one of these few monsters. His biological parents probably didn't have such powers and were shocked to find that he did. This magic, being much more powerful than the norm, was sort of difficult to keep contained. Just think about Elsa from frickin' Frozen, and there you go. His state of mind majorly impacts how his powers respond. It's not likely for him to want to hurt people or end up getting experimented on for something he wishes wasn't inside of him. Get the gist of it?

It's not canon, it comes from a tweet from Toby Fox that says if the game were in Japanese Pap would call Sans "aniki", "take it as you will". It's not even in the game. Thanks for the nice words though.
