Mission Details:
A star! Fame, Fortune, and a chance to prove to an adoring audience that she's all that she thinks she is! How could Eve possible turn down such an offer? A chance in the limelight! The only problem is...the gig is in Alomomola Bay. Eve's hometown. She hasn't seen her parents since she ran away from home. Will she be able to keep her cool in the hot seat??

=======================

Due to time constraints (and getting married XP ) I was unable to finish this story as a comic. BUT! I can say that I now have finished the entire story for this mission in text, and will be posting chapters of it with illustrations as I make them. This is a critical mission for Team StarWing, and so even though the deadline is long-passed, I will be posting this anyway for the sake of their plot.

So without further commentary, here is Chapter 1:

=======================

Chapter 1: Why Am I Here?

"Wow! It's so beautiful! There are so many lights...it's like the night sky is on the ground!"

"It is indeed majestic, my angel...the only thing more beautiful is the way they reflect in your eyes~" Ace chimed, giving his usual blatantly corny romantic remark that somehow always made Abby's cheeks turn rosy. Normally Eve would roll her eyes at such a comment, and pretend to ignore the couple. But this time she wasn't pretending. As soon as they had entered the hotel room, she had curled up on the bed and feigned sleep.

"Hehe..." Abigail giggled slightly. Although she was not a member of Team StarWing, she had been invited along on their trip by Ace, who could not pass up the opportunity to bring his mate to the bustling city of Alomomola. "I can't believe we're actually in Alomomola...it's so huge! I knew it was a big city, but this makes Tao look so tiny!"

"Indeed." Ace chuckled. "Care for an aerial tour, my dear~?" He asked, causing the female's eyes to immediately light up.

"Of course! You mean you've been here before?!" She gasped. Ace nodded.

"I did quite a bit of traveling after I left my nest. I've visited most of the areas in Tao, but Alomomola was always one of my favorites. The views were fantastic and the company was...well, pleasurable." He reddened a bit, trying to downplay his last words once he realized the girl beside him might not like hearing about his bachelor exploits.

"Amazing!" Luckily it seemed she hadn't picked up on it, "Let's get going then!" Abby turned, suddenly remembering the other member in the room. "Oh...but what about Eve? Will she be okay by herself?"

"Eve, darling. Do you mind if Abigail and I take a short flight around the city?" Ace asked politely. The silver figure on the bed didn't move, much less respond.

"Eve?" Abby looked worried.

"Ah...she must be asleep. Best not disturb her then." Ace pulled open the window carefully, and gestured towards the warm night air outside. "Shall we?"

With that, the two lovebirds had fluttered out of the window, leaving the soft breeze from the open window to lightly rustle the soft fur of the Eevee on the bed. She was not asleep, however. In fact her icy blue eyes were wide open, staring at the stitches that created the blanket she was laying on. Unlike Ace and Abby, she could not bring herself to enjoy the big city, even if it was the first time she had returned to her hometown since running away several months ago. In fact, it was that fact that bothered her the most.

Why am I here...I said I would never come back...never again...

Painful memories cycled through Eve's mind, recalling the night she had left all she knew behind and ventured into the wild on her own for the first time...

------------

Tears streamed down the young Eevee's cheeks as she dashed past buildings and across streets. Her lithe silver form slipped between the bustling pokemon on the sidewalks. Where was she going? She had no idea...she just had to get away from THEM! How could they do this to her?! Had she done something wrong? What had changed??

No matter how many questions she asked herself, no answers came. All she knew was that for whatever reason, her parents no longer cared about her happiness. No longer cared about her...what had she done?? They said she couldn't take care of herself....they said she would be useless to society...they said she was...spoiled. How could they say those things to their own child?! Didn't they love her anymore?

Eve bitterly bit her lip, forcing the lump in her throat down as she ran. Her paws already ached, slamming again and again against the hard pavement. Finally, she slowed down to a walk, gasping for breath. She looked up with tear-stained eyes, noticing rays of sunlight peeking through the buildings, giving the streets and the sky a soft orange hue. Sunset. Living on a coast, running towards the sunlight would just put her on the beach, and she'd be stuck. Not only that, but she would be able to see her home from there...and they might see her as well. No, she had to go the other direction. So she did. She sauntered down the streets at a less brisk pace, still trying to catch her breath as well as fighting back the tears that inhibited her vision. Blurry shapes of pokemon faded away from her thoughts as she passed them. All she could see was the scornful faces of her parents. They were so disappointed in her....disgusted even. Ever since the dinner...

Eve's father, Adam, was a senior accountant for one of the biggest firms in Alomomola. He had been asked to bring his family to dinner with his boss and a very wealthy, very important client. Eve had been invited too, of course, and was actually excited to be able to dress up more than usual. Her mother, Dawn, helped her pick out her dress, and even styled her fur for her so that she would be as stunning as possible. Eve knew that this was an important dinner, and had been promised a gift of her choice if she behaved and the dinner was a success. She wasn't going to get that gift now, of course...all thanks to the stupid waiter who had set that monstrosity he called food in front of her. What kind of pokemon even came up with a dish called Starmie Surprise?? It was disgusting to look at and to smell! And she was expected to eat that?? As if! She didn't even like seafood to start with! Wouldn't her parents have told the chef that she wouldn't like that dish? Of course...she didn't realize that this dish was actually the client's favorite. He was an oddly eccentric Croconaw named Glade, and was very upset for some reason when Eve took one sip of the purple and green stew, and spat it back out before promptly slapping the bowl of offensive mush out of her sight.

Needless to say her father and his boss did their best to calm the Croconaw, but lost his contract despite their best efforts. Her father's boss, a scrawny looking Murkrow, thoroughly chewed Adam out for his daughter's behavior. He apologized and the family was politely excused. However, no matter how harsh the Murkrow was on her father, it was nothing compared to the scolding Eve received from her parents. There was a lot of yelling, and her father was so upset that he took away every single one of Eve's toys and grounded her. He even called her...spoiled. Eve had looked to her mother for comfort, but she had scolded her just as badly. They didn't even care that she was in tears, and finally Eve couldn't take it anymore. She dashed out of the house, and now she was wandering aimlessly down the streets of Alomomola.

"They think I'm spoiled..." Eve spat angrily under her breath, her brow furrowing. "It's not my fault the stupid waiter decided he didn't want to serve FOOD for dinner! I hate him! It's all his fault! And that stupid weirdo Croconaw....where did he even GET a bow tie THAT color?? I'll show them...I'll show all of them..." Eve's sadness and confusion was quickly turning to bitter anger and resentment. "They said I couldn't last two minutes in the real world...hah! I've already been out here for five! I'll show them! I'm never coming back home! Never again! I don't need them! I can do just fine on my own!"
