Here's another commission for xSakuyaChan510x . This time Raina gets to take the Ferrari out for a spin!It was quite a surprise for her, because she originally thought she was just going to be a sexy car model. But when I told her that Sakuya wanted another shot of her driving, Raina just lit up, as you can see!
Cruising with the windows down, wind blowing in her hair, and oops - blowing her skirt up, too! Raina didn't seem to notice, nor did she care.

Thanks a lot! Yeah, actually we were going to try that. But the car wasn't made for close-ups down there. The geometry and textures wouldn't have made a very impressive shot.

Totally get it
The trick I've used were just adjusting the camera settings to give a wider Field of View - but that causes stretching of the edges, as you know. Another one was to "cut" a hole in the mesh so the camera can reside behind the footwell wall. This of course you would need to dig into the obj files (or whatever mesh) and modify them that way.
As for the textures, sometimes adding a bump/normal/displacement map adds some complexity there for close ups.

Thanks! Well then you're going to love this trick also. Well, not so much a trick, but a feature built into Daz. Iray Section Planes.
Daz already has the capability to hide geometry from the render without having to edit the obj. This is especially useful in situations exactly like you describe.
I just googled and found this really nice tutorial right here on DeviantArt. Check it out, it's pretty cool!

Or, if the piece that's in the way of your camera is a surface of it's own - you can just turn down the cutout opacity to zero. Or you can use the geometry editor to select whatever you want to be gone, and then hide the polygons that way.
These methods all work great and none of them require editing in an external modeling program. They're very fast and can all be done on the fly right in Daz. Fun stuff!

First of all, I really want to give a huge thanks to the commissioner for such great concepts for photos to be commissioned, as it's displayed very well by both Sakuya and yourself on how ideas and creation works. Second of all, I wish, I could one day drive a Ferrari, just to experience how it feels in every aspect on driving it.
I'm happy for Raina to have experinced the joy of cruising through the highway with open windows, as I'm a huge fan of it as well, and though what happened to her in the car, as she was driving, is nothing she's concerning herself with, we as viewers whom view the photo, gets a bit more revealed from her attire, which isn't a bad thing, but safety first, then the rest follows

Yeah, it was a little tricky. When I first "turned on the sun", there were crazy shadows on her from the roof, dash, and steering wheel. I'll just say that there are some creatively placed light panels - and a not so bright sun.
