Description
Tags, chain journals, repost/reblog asks, surveys, any of that time wasting junk...I'm not interested.
I have officially gotten tired of explaining why I don't do these things so I have taken to simply deleting any message regarding a repost of something (sending along hugs/story posts/blah blah blah) or journals (Fake Friends seems pretty popular lately). If I'm tagged in something for a survey or something, I'm going to ignore it. If someone posts something and expects me to pass it along, I'm going to ignore it.
No. I'm not trying to be mean or nothing, it's just I'm sick of wasting time on it. It's non-productive and I don't find it fun in the slightest. But this leads me to another point I've noticed when I read some things to be reposted.
"If you're a true friend you'll repost this..."
That bullshit. Seriously. It's bull. Shit. A "true friend" is NOT defined by whether or not they repost some journal or post. I honestly find such things demanding that friendship be noted by whether or not you like/share/fav/repost something to be crap and hardly a definition of true friendship. True friends DON'T need their friends to repost stuff like that to "prove" their loyalty. Some people do it for fun, and I understand that, but it has always irked me how people seem to judge sometimes if you don't like/share/fav/repost something and labeling you as a "bad person".
So yeah. Me and tags/repost/crap = I'm going to ignore it. I've said my peace, what's yours? What do you think about this?

Yeah, sometimes it can feel a bit restrictive. Which is why I vented with this. The internet isn't a place to get clingy =/

It's been years since I've seen those kind of messages.
Aaaanyways, I agree with you, they were pretty annoying.

Wow, years, huh? DA's mention system is neat to see where you're icon pops up for your art page, but the tags can get on the nerves at times.
All there is for us to do is delete them.

I figured there had to be others who felt this annoyance from such things out there. Happy to hear it's not just me being stingy with my time.

I really agree, especially with what a true friend really means.
I really hate seeing, "if you're a true friend, repost this." v_v
I don't think it makes anyone a bad person if they don't repost. If someone is a true friend, their friend already knows. They don't have to feel they have to prove it by copying and pasting it.
Any message I get about these, I tell the person not to put them on my page (if they're someone I know, the ones I've told understood). I delete them and hide the comment afterwards.
I'm really glad to see this. This expresses how I feel perfectly.

Yeah, I know exactly the feeling. I see it a lot from those I watch and from my friends. Though those who have come to really know me know you can't expect me to repost such a thing because I don't think it would prove anything.
Sadly it'll continue to exist and it will only be dealt with via deletion and hiding the crap.

Agreed.....although, normally if a freind sends it to me directly, I do read it out pf curiosity and if it's a thing that says "send this to everyone you love/like/who's your friend/etc."~ I say I don't do the chains and tell them I send it in spirit. Otherwise I, too, ignore it.

Even ones sent to me directly I've taken to ignoring them, since the ones that are sent to me directly were actually sent in bulk, meaning it wasn't meant for me personally. If someone ever tries to send one directly to me I'll likely respond by sending this mini-comic to express why it is I'm not following through with the chain act.

Yeah, it gets more on the annoying side if anything. I've ended up developing a habit of deleting things right away if it's an obvious tagging thing.

Unless it's a legit thing that is seeking support I likely will ignore it, anything else is attention grabbing. It's like those "like this image to help us cure cancer" or anything else like that. Exactly what does likes pertain to in real world currency? It makes no sense to me at all. What is a like going to do? Make the scientists work faster or something? (yeah, I have a dark outlook, but I prefer to call it realism)

I'm a pretty speedy reader so by the ifirst few seconds I look at one of those idiotic things, I've already read enough to completely ignore it and continue on my freaking way.
Idiocy. It's best not to humor it. It's just one of those terrible issues that I try to avoid as much as I can because the goshdarn, forsaken thing is unevitable and unchangeable.

Foxy-Sierra In reply to AquosSun [2014-01-06 20:26:47 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, ignoring it is basically the best option. I just figured I'd get a clear notice out there "I don't do tags/repost chain crap". I'm sick of explaining why because I worry people might take my neglect to repost a journal or something as a negative overview on them somehow.
Even so, I'm sick of looking at the tags and journal posts. They don't accomplish anything except serve as a time waster.

It's the one picture like Jeff the killer or something even scarier. It said if you don't repost I'll come at you at 12:30 or something like that. It is annoying. It scares me because i would scroll down and see the face and flip out. I wonder people do this...

One Coarse Meal was the worst of it. See, Plankton was so psychologically tormented by Mr. Krabs in the most WORST ways possible, that he couldn't take it anymore. So, we see him IN THE ACT of committing suicide, but it was DISPLAYED IN A COMICAL WAY! (He was laying in the road, waiting to get run over.) And when SpongeBob tells Mr. Krabs about it, Mr. Krabs is OVER JOYOUS. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!
