Bluestar turned to leave the den, when Fireheart heard a furious spitting. He turned, his eyes wide as a white blur came up behind Bluestar. Had Cloudtail gone mad enough to attack his leader?!

It took him a moment to realize the white pelt didn't belong to his nephew; Frostfur stood there, back arched and teeth bared. Fireheart had never seen such fury in the normally gentle and level-headed she-cat's eyes.

Bluestar, it seemed, was also equally bewildered; she stared at Frostfur with a look of shock.

"How dare you!" Frostfur hissed, looking half ready to lunge at the leader like she was a ShadowClan warrior. "I've had enough of this, Bluestar! You treat us like dirt and refuse to lead your clan like the leader you were, but you do not get to treat my kit this way!"

Brightheart stirred in her nest, mumbling. Fireheart realized what he saw in Frostfur's eyes; the same look he'd seen in Goldenflower's when he spoke to her before. That was the fierceness of a mother's love for her kits, stronger than all of Lionclan.

OK I HATE HOW THE ERINS DIDN'T GIVE FROSTFUR ANY EMOTION TO THE FACT HER DAUGHTER BECAME A CHEW TOY!

And I also find it hard to believe she'd be okay with her being named Lostface, just to spite their warrior ancestors. Yeah it was the first series where cats were named after their injuries, BUT THEY HAD A CEREMONY. THEY OBVIOUSLY CONSENTED TO IT OR WERE AT LEAST PRESENT TO IT!! Bluestar named Brightheart purely out of spite to Starclan while she was unconscious and it was uncertain if she would live or not.

Bluestar's treatment of her clanmates, ESPECIALLY BRIGHTHEART, is horrible and unjustifiable to me, no matter what you say. "Oh, but she was sick!" MENTAL ILLNESS DOES NOT EXCUSE THE PAIN YOU INFLICT ON OTHERS.

Ok so AU time! Thunderclan gets more and more tired of Bluestar's crap and start looking to Fireheart as a leader. They decide to keep Bluestar as a 'leader' to save face with the other clans, but Brightpaw being named Lostface (directly after they found out that Swiftpaw was dead) was the straw that broke the camel's back. Speckletail, Frostfur and Goldenflower lead the revolution against Bluestar, all of them having kits suffer because of her treatment.

They demand that she steps down as leader and retire to the elder's den, as well as pestering Fireheart to go see Starclan and at least try to get his nine lives (Not caring about the whole leader-needs-to-be-gone thing bc they just want a competent leader.) Before the fight with the dogs, they put Bluestar with the elders, no longer seeing her as their leader. Then everything happens as normal.
